The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) has a worldwide reputation for training actors, stage managers and technical specialists for careers at the highest level in theatre, television, film and radio. RADA is looking for a highly motivated Financial Controller with robust technical skills to provide leadership to the finance team during an exciting period of growth.

Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations the Financial Controller is responsible for taking a lead in the financial performance management of the organisation and ensuring its future growth and stability.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring accounting records of RADA and RADA in Business are complete and accurate;
  • Maintaining a strong control environment to protect RADA’s assets and monitoring compliance;
  • Preparing VAT & Gift Aid returns; leading on cash flow forecasting; ensuring timely and accurate monthly reporting
  • Leading on statutory reporting and consolidation of statutory accounts; leading on the preparation for annual audits and managing relevant third party relationships (tax, audit, etc);
  • Leading on process and systems improvements; continuously striving to improve the quality and timeliness of financial information.

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant and experienced professional with excellent financial accounting skills and knowledge of Charity SORP or Higher Education accounting. You will have a dedicated and proactive approach, be IT confident and continuously strive to improve processes.
